It is sometimes useful to have a radiator removed to allow for decorating or structural work. First we close the valves and drain the radiator, we then remove the radiator and move it to a safe location. It is important to not leave the radiator where the black sludge that can accumulate can damage if it leaks out of one of the open ends. Once the radiator has been removed we then blank off the radiator valves so as to prevent any damage should the valve fail in anyway (this is quite common on older valves).
