Shop Basin

What we did

For this job we had to find a good position for the new basin which wasn’t easy as it had to go on the opposite site of the room to allow for a later partition. We decided to run the pipework round the room along with the waste. this was a long way to send the pipework and waste pipe but there was not any other viable options. We then drilled through the wall into an adjacent bathroom where we connected both the hot and cold pipe work along with the waste.

Quality and style

This new basin is of good quality. We fitted it with a very nice mixer tap and a push up waste and trap assembly.

Kitchen Drain and Trap

What we did

We got a call from an elderly lady who’s plug hole in her kitchen sink was cracked and as the screw connecting the plug hole and trap could not be tightened it was causing a small leak underneath. When we removed the trap under the sink we realised that most of the rubber seals were either broken or deteriorated to the point that they may leak over time and so replacing both the plug hole and trap was the smartest option.

Quality and style

The new plug hole was chrome and looked in keeping with the original sink. This new system came with a strainer plug which was easy to use and useful for collecting large pieces of debris and stopping them going down the drain.

radiator shut off valve

Bedroom Radiator

What we did

The customer already had a radiator that was very old and had a lot of rust and so wanted a new one to match her newly decorated bedroom. Firstly we shut off the radiator valves and drained down the radiator which we then removed and disposed of for the customer. We then hung the new radiator and connected it to the valves (which were the original valves and still in very good condition) and bled the radiator to fill it. We then topped up the pressure on the boiler in case there had been much of a loss from when we filled the radiator.

style and practicality

This new radiator is of good quality and as the bedroom has just been decorated will add a lot to the style and cleanness of the room compared to the old rusty one we had just removed. We made sure that the new radiator had a high enough rating in BTU’s to make sure it heated this room adequately for its size.

stylish black radiator

Bedroom Radiator

What we did

The customer already had a regular radiator on one side of the room but wanted to upgrade to a better more stylish radiator as well as moving the position to the other side of the room under the window as to allow a fitted wardrobe to fitted in the originals location. To achieve this we first drained down the system and removed the original radiator. We cut the pipe under the floorboards and then used the existing pipework from the old radiator and connected speed fit plastic pipe which then passed from one side of the room to the other. We then drilled through the boards at the new location and connected the pipe to the newly hung radiator. The reason we used speed fit plastic in this instance was because the customer didn’t want too many floor board pulled up as they were planing on sanding them later to make it into a feature and to pull up more boards would have meant cutting them in multiple places which would not have looked as nice.

style and practicality

This new radiator is very stylish and with the new colour will match the customers new plan for this room perfectly. We gave the customer the choice to have the pipework come though the floorboards and into the radiator in either copper (which they would then be able to paint later) or to leave it in the white plastic which already matches one of the colours they have chosen to decorate the room in. The customer chose the plastic which we think will be the right decision in this instance.

Bath Tap Change

What we did

This was a straight tap change as the original was broken. The original had a shower hose connected so we had to replace the old one with one that had that connection. As there was no isolation valves under the bath we had to turn off the water for the short time we were working. We removed the old tap cleaned the area, changed the fibre washers, installed the new mixer tap and connected the hose to the existing shower head.

Quality and style

The mixer tap was selected by the customer as they liked the style and it matched the existing suite and appliances. The tap is of great quality and came with its own shower hose. We were very happy with how the tap looked when finished.
